ChargeHero

A Private EV
Charger Sharing Platform

1.png

At a glance

ChargeHero is private charger sharing platform amongst electric vehicle (EV) owners. In doing so, the platform aims to give back time to EV owners without private charging at home. No more – planning their day around planning, waiting to find a public charger available, and going out of the way – but integrating charging into the day whenever they don’t need to use the car.

Take time back from charging.

Project Summary

Problem

A law has recently been passed in California to ban the sale of new gas cars by 2035. However, the current infrastructure is insufficient to support the widespread adoption of electric vehicles (EVs) and hinder the smooth transition process.

Solution

A private EV charger sharing platform aims to alleviate the challenges associated with owning an EV. Instead of having to plan their day around public chargers, EV owners can conveniently charge their vehicles just a few blocks away from their homes, with the help of their neighbors.

To find an effective solution, I had to go through multiple processes.

Learnings

Time Management

I was exposed to a lot of new experiences, such as learning to use a new tool called Figma, utilizing the design thinking process, conducting user interviews, and more. With so many things to manage, it was important for me to effectively manage my time. I quickly recognized the significance of prioritization and setting realistic deadlines. By creating a well-structured schedule, I ensured that each task received sufficient attention.

Focus

With so many insights and problems to solve, come a lot of solutions as well. I felt flustered and didn't know what the next best step was. However, this project taught me to take a step back and focus only on solving the things that are most important to the user, in order to make the biggest impact. If I hadn't done so, I would have probably tried to solve all of them with little success and low quality.
