Toy Sharing Platform

At a glance
Stoy is a toy-sharing platform designed to help facilitate local community sharing. It aims to eliminate the fear of sharing second-hand toys and stranger danger while promoting environmental preservation. With Stoy, parents can avoid wasting money on buying new toys that their children will quickly lose interest in. The platform also helps parents make informed decisions about which toys are best suited for their child's growth and development.
Stop spending,
and start sharing.

Project Summary
Problem
Buying toys for children is like an endless pit of a money-sucking, long-term project. Children also often have a short attention span, quickly getting bored of new toys and crying for something better, causing a lot of unnecessary trash to end up in landfills. Additionally, parents can't resist buying them new toys to get back some 'alone time' while their children play with toys.

Solution
STOY is a toy sharing platform that emphasizes sharing with your neighbors. It aims to help dissipate fears around sharing with strangers and instead focuses on forming connections between neighbors through the act of exchanging toys.

Learnings
Collaborating
I had the opportunity to collaborate with another designer during this time, and it was a valuable learning experience. We both had different work styles and occasionally had opposing ideas. However, these differences actually contributed to creating a better solution in the end. By challenging and building off each other's suggestions, we pushed ourselves to do better.
Personal Growth
Working with a partner can be an enriching experience, but it is not uncommon for internal conflicts to arise. Our conflict stemmed from differing perspectives and approaches to problem-solving. We found ourselves at odds, each advocating for our own ideas and solutions. Initially, the conflict was unsettling and disruptive to our workflow. However, instead of letting the conflict escalate, we took a step back and engaged in open and honest communication. We actively listened to each other's viewpoints, seeking to understand the underlying reasons behind our ideas. This allowed us to gain a deeper appreciation for the diverse perspectives we brought to the table.
